El Morro Bus Stop

El Morro bus stop represents the living essence of the Maule countryside.

Located along a rural road in Pencahue, El Morro is much more than a bus stop. For more than 70 years it has been a meeting point for farm laborers, winegrowers and local residents who traveled these dusty roads to work on farms and vineyards in Maule’s dryland area.

Older residents recall that carts loaded with grapes and wheat once passed through the area, playing an important role in Pencahue’s economy from the mid-20th century onward. People exchanged news and goods here, while the community built ties among the surrounding hills and fields.
